Local Information and Activities
Nearby beach
From Kidd's B&B you have a five minute walk to Lakeview Beach and the Floating Walkway.

There are a number of interesting beaches around the lake.
Boating is popular. The nearby Marina has short-term docking and rents seadoos, a power boat and a pontoon boat. There are also kayaks and canoes available and people ride tubes down the river. Here we are docking our boat to pick up friends.
A senior hiking group
Go hiking. There are many trails up mountains and along rivers. We can explain some of them. Here, we are hiking with an elder college group. There are also interesting geo-cache sites nearby.
Cyclist departing from Kidds B&B
Cycle here and there! We are at the west end of the Trans-Canada Trail and expect direct links to Victoria and Nanaimo in the near future. We welcome cycling guests. This group is continuing their journey.
The Nature Reserve in Honymoon Bay
The Honeymoon Bay Ecological Reserve is a popular place in April and June when native plants are at their best.
Outside the Museum
Our local museum tells the story of forestry in the lake area. During the May Long weekend they celebrate Heritage Days

We also boast the unique Micheala Davidson Art Gallery and the Galloping Moon Coffee and Gift shop.
The Arena at Lake Cowichan
The Arena and Curling Rink and Community Hall are busy venues that draw many visitors each year.

We host hockey greats -- in the making -- and fun curling teams each year. Plans are being developed for an upgrade of the Arena.
Beth with a guest at the finish of the Great Lake Walk
We did it! Beth poses with one of our guests, after completing the gruelling 56 Km Great Lake Walk. Beth has walked around twice. Dave drives around before daylight to deliver guests to the start and bags to rest stops.

The walk (or run), is held on the 2nd weekend in Sept and attracts 4-500 participants and as many volunteers.
